RS Excitement

I am so excited for the next issue of Rolling Stone which will have Jimmy Fallon on the cover.  I have been talking about for MONTHS how great The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon is for music.  Almost every week,  and usually multiple times a week, they have some legend sitting in with The Roots.  Sometimes it's the musical guest and sometimes it's just someone sitting in.  Not to mention that the house band in THE ROOTS.  Fallon is constantly referring to them as "the best band in late night" and you will find no argument from me and I doubt anyone else.   They are the best at picking the entrance music for each guest and you can always see that the guest appreciates it.  Not only does Jimmy Fallon have amazing musical guests he often does whole shows or weeks dedicated to legends.  The Rolling Stones week to celebrate the re-release of Exile on Main Street and the accompanying documentary was fabulous.  He has a whole show with Paul McCartney where he participated in the harmonies from "She Loves You".  I think I posted the clip from the Bruce Springstein show of Fallon as Neil Young and Bruce as late 80s Bruce singing Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair".  Maybe my absolute favorite was the history of rap with Justin Timberlake.  There was also a great moment two Thanksgivings ago with Mos Def where he was complaining that he seemed like he sitting on a stoop and Fallon came back it him with a spot on impression asking if he should do the show with the same amount of energy that Mod Def was exhibiting.  Also, not a musical guest, but if you can youtube Jeremy Renner singing "New York State of Mind" was amazing.  The point is that I am so excited for Rolling Stone to come and see what they think of the music on Late Night.
