I feel like The Who got a flack from people for not making the most of their Super Bowl performance last year. Unlike all the other classic rock preformers of late (McCartney, Aerosmith, Springstein) they didn't seem to capitalize off America's biggest stage. It seems like some of that might have to do with the health of the band. Pete Townshend is practically deaf which makes it pretty hard to tour. It also makes what he did last year during the half time show that much more impressive. Roger Daltrey on the other hand was criticized for his voacl performance last year and we are know learning that may also be related to his health. The Who lead singer had had pre cancerous growths removed from his vocal chords at Mass General just weeks before the Miami gig. I am once again impressed. Despite Townshend's hearing and Daltrey's voice they plan on touring in 2011. Ironic this is happening to members of a band that sang in "My Generation", "I hope I die before I get old". I also ironic that Keith Moon did. Get well soon The Who.
